Michael Shane, Esq.
Attorney Michael Shane practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality law.
After Michael Shane graduated magna cum laude from State University of New York in 1974, he attended the University of Miami School of Law. He graduated from Miami with his Juris Doctor in 1977 and was thereafter admitted to practice law in Florida and the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
From 1986 to 1987, Michael Shane was President of the American Immigration and Lawyers Association (AILA). He maintains an active role on the Board of AILA.
Michael Shane is an inaugural member of the Immigration and Nationality Law Certification committee. The committee was founded in 1995. As an inaugural member, Michael Shane was among the first Immigration attorneys in the state of Florida to become a Florida Bar Board Certified specialist in Immigration. The prestigious distinction of being a certified specialist in Immigration places Michael Shane in an elite category among his fellow Immigration attorneys.
Since 1984, Michael Shane has been a contributing author and speaker during the Florida Bar and AILA annual seminars on Immigration Law. Also, Michael Shane has been a Chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee since 2000.
Raquel Chaviano-Mora, Esq.
Attorney Raquel Chaviano-Mora practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality law for the Law Offices of Michael Shane, P.A. in its Miami-Dade location.
After Mrs. Chaviano-Mora received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies in 1996 from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, she attended the Shepard Broad Law Center, Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Mrs. Chaviano-Mora graduated from Nova cum laude with her Juris Doctor degree in 1999 and was thereafter admitted to the Florida Bar on September 17, 1999.
Mrs. Chaviano-Mora is a Board Member of the South Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). As a member of AILA, Mrs. Chaviano-Mora served on a panel that focused on family-based immigration at the 27th Annual AILA Law Update conference in 2006. Additionally, Mrs. Chaviano-Mora helped edit the Sixth Edition of Kurzban's Immigration Law Sourcebook. She is also a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society
Evan Shane, Esq.
Attorney Evan Shane practices exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality law. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
In 2002, Mr. Shane graduated cum laude from the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Business Administration. In 2005, Mr. Shane received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
As a law student at Stetson University College of Law, Mr. Shane earned the book award in Immigration and Nationality law for achieving the highest grade in the course. Additionally, Mr. Shane was a Certified Legal Intern for the Immigration Division at Gulfcoast Legal Services, a not-for-profit organization focused on assisting indigent individuals with their legal needs. Specifically, Mr. Shane focused on Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions. Mr. Shane was also a Certified Legal Intern for the Pinellas County Public Defender's office, where he prepared and tried criminal cases.
Mr. Shane is a member of the South Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), where he presently serves as co-chairman of the New Member Division. Mr. Shane is a member of Business Network International's Premier Chapter located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is also a member of Chamber South in Miami, Florida.
